Ice Blocking

Posted by admin on November 24th, 2007

If you have a smooth, grassy hill, you have the perfect setting for ice blocking.

This is something I learned from our friends to the south…way south. In California where they are lacking snow, they still like sliding down hills. They just do it a little different.

Follow these simple instructions to experience sledding in a whole new way. Go to a local supermarket and buy blocks of ice. Carry your ice blocks to the top of the hill, cover them with a towel, take a seat, and slide down the hill. You can either buy your ice blocks or use kitchen pots and pans to make your own ice blocks. They need to be about 12 x 8 inches and at least 6″ high. Note: The first few slides will be a bit slow, but once the hill gets wet, the sliding gets faster.
