Prisoners Base
Posted by admin on March 12th, 2007

Description:
This is a high energy, high contact, competitive game for large groups (80-100+ People)
Time:
1 hour - 1.5 Hours
Material:
-Field
-Rope or something to divide the field
-Optional: Ice cream pail lids
Objective:
Get the entire other team in your jail (optional: the most lids)
How to play:
There are a few terms that we need to explain first.
1. More Charge: Everyone in the game is like a battery. When they leave from behind their line they start to lose charge. If someone leaves after them they will have more charge and will be able to tag the parson with less charge. Once you cross over your line you get recharged
2. Jail: If you are sent to jail (just opposite corners down the side of the field, the campers are to make a line from the jail to their end of the field a single row. The players must be touching hands, feet, heads, anything but the line must not break at any point
3. Free walk back: no one can tag them as they go back to their side
Divide the players in to two even teams. On go they will try to tag the other players with less charge. If a player is tagged in the field both players go back to the side of the tagger. The player that got tagged goes to the end or is the last person in jail. If a player from the other team can cross the line of the opposing team the player gets a free walk back with the person at the front of the jail line. Players can also free their teammates from jail by tagging the last prisoner in the line.
Variation:
Put some thing in the middle that they are all trying to get as well like a bunch of lids or something, so then the winner is the team that gets the most lids and everyone in jail. (That is just to get the kids out at the start, once they are in jail that keeps the game going, you can also just get you counselors to be the first to leave and get the campers to follow them to tease the other team, sort of like na na boo boo can’t catch me)
Variation 2:
Players that can cross the opposite teams line without getting caught can become spies. Spies can recharge behind the enemy line and tag players as they leave their line. Spies can also choose to free one prisoner instead of tagging an enemy. There can only be 3 spies behind enemy lines at a time.
Rules:
-The jail must be a single line
-You must have more charge to tag
-You can only take one person back at a time
-You can only tag one person at a time
