Description:
This is a game the causes the campers to be spies (80-100+ People)
Time:
1 hour- 1.5 Hours
Material:
Little Bibles (Small square pieces of stapled together)
Optional marbles
Objective:
Get your “bible” to the destination without getting caught
How to play:
Optional - Make it a lesson to the campers about living in a Communist country or a country where it is illegal to be a Christian. Get the speaker to say something before the game and then cancel chapel and have chapel after the game and the speaker finishes their talk.
To play give every camper a small “bible”. They can choose to keep it or get it later. They then need to get it from point A to point B. However there are obstacles in the way. The counselors are officers that are trying to stop the “bibles” from going through the camp. If a camper is caught with a “bible” they go to jail for a while. Then they can try again. Once everyone gets to point B the game is over.
Tips about the game:
1. Point A is the chapel or cafeteria and Point B is a fire pit a far way a way through some trees and hills
2. The counselors are to be very strict for the first 30 min and then every 30 min get less and less strict and encouraging then to get to the fire pit
3. The counselors can frisk the campers within reason, boys do boys and girls do girls. They can also get them to remove layers of clothing to look through as well.
4. At the fire pit have marshmallows or something for the campers to do while they wait, it can get to a few hours some times.
5. At the end of the game the counselors just tell the kids to go to the fire pit and everyone left in the game just walks to the pit.
Variation:
You can play with marbles as well, where the campers are trying to get to the cafeteria and once they are in the caf they are to deliver the marble to the missionary, however also in the caf are several officers. The campers are to ask questions to the people and when they think they found the right person they deliver the marble. If it is the right person they go off somewhere where all the winner are waiting for the game to end, the loses or the campers that deliver the marble to the officers go to jail for a bit then are released to try again.
Rules:
-”Bibles” can not be under the pants or shirts
-Campers must tell the truth
-Counselors need to be smart so they do not get sued
