Monopoly
Posted by admin on March 12th, 2007
Description:
This is a good classic game (80-100+ People)
Time:
1 - 1.5 hours
Material:
-Money (see download at the bottom)
-Photocopies of the board (see bottom)
-several pairs of dice
-Monopoly Game Board (for the location cards)
Objective:
Get the most money
How to play:
Make one team one cabin, you do not want the teams to be too big.
You play this game just like normal monopoly with a few changes. The changes are, there are no utilities or railroads, if they land on those they roll again. There is also no chance or community chest, those are roll again as well. You make the cafeteria, both home and Jail. All the locations on the board are places throughout the camp with one or two staff members. The campers start at the caf, roll their dice and then look on the board and then they go to the appropriate location. Once they get there they can choose to buy it or roll and go on to the next place. If they go past GO they can either choose to go back to the caf if they are close and get their $200 or they can skip it and go straight to their next property.
Each person at a location has a copy of the board and a set of dice and some money, a pad and a pen to keep track of all the information like who bought the property and the amount of money collected as rent for them.
If a group gets all three they can buy houses and hotels for them. This is just monopoly in life size.
I am going to try to put pictures of everything that you need online later, I need to get back to Canada and see a real board to do this
Rules:
Normal Monopoly rules
If you need a help with the money I have a psd file (Photoshop 7) that has all the notes you would need ($10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1000) you can download it HERE and put your counselor busts on them to make them fit your camp. (right click and choose download/save file)
