It is very important not to forget the staff in the pictures. It is always good to grab a few shots of a cute camper that was just in a food fight and is covered in food, or one that just came out of the mud pit. However it is still very important to get the staff involvement in the pictures. This does two things:
1. It shows the parents that the campers are well supervised and looked after
2. It show the campers that the staff are fun and outgoing

One idea for the campers is to make them a highlight video for the week. If you are good enough it can be sold to the campers at the end of each week. If your skills are more of a hobbyist instead of a professional the videos can also be put on the camp’s website and the campers can come and view it at a later time. Making a video for the campers will give them something to remember their week at camp and something to watch later on while they are getting excited about the coming summer.

For the older campers after the last thing that happens everyone comes back to the cafeteria and where it is setup like a coffee house atmosphere and they drink hot chocolate and listen to music and just hang out till a bit past curfew. This works well after camp fire. It’s a good chance for campers to show off a bit with their friends. It helps if you let them know at the beginning of the week and get the campers to sign up for a time slot at the coffee house. Then they have time to create their own “band” or performance. This is good for teen camps.

On the last night of camp take all the campers out to a special fire pit and have a camp fire. It is good to have a routine that the camp fire follows and is always the same (first everyone enters the pit area and says nothing, then there is singing, then the sharing then a little talk from the director to encourage the campers as they leave the next day, then everyone goes back to their cabins, for example), so as the campers that come year after year they will begin to know it as a very special time. It is a time for the campers to thank their counselors, or to tell what they have learned over the week. It is also a time for the counselors to talk about their cabins or about the campers that impacted them over the week.

At the last supper one thing that can be done ease the stress of a “banquet.” What you do is you split the staff into couples, one boy and one girl. It is then up to the couple to figure out who they are going to go as. Here are some examples:
